Truth?!
Why are people always trying to make their weird little personal opinions into some sort of universal incontrovertible truism?
I’m an artist. Happiness is the only place art ever comes from for me.
How awful would it be if the words on that tattoo were actually truth. When I’m not happy, truly unhappy, I’m not going to do anything art-related, because I’m busy not being happy. That usually entails a lot of lying down and not art-ing. I’m not saying it never comes from non-happiness, and I’m sure the same isn’t true for everybody, but if your “art” only comes from sadness, it’s probably really melancholic Sonic the Hedgehog stuff with Linkin Park lyrics being your main, driving force of gross inspiration. Also, probably lots of anthropomorphic wolves and you wear a trench coat, even when it’s warm.
Basically, sadness-driven art is the front page of Deviantart is what I’m saying.
